Lastfm Post Extension

Woha Guys,

its me – back to buisness again. Today i serve you my new Lastfm Post Extension for WordPress. It enables your Blog to automagically get the Song you listened to while posting your Stuff. If some Wolfmother Track is shown above, than it works like it should :-) You do not need to enter your Last.fm Password, all we want and need is your Username (or a Username of any Lastfm User)

Requirements

Unfortunaly i’m a lazy guy. So there is no PHP4 support since it uses the SimpleXML Class, which is only included in PHP5. But PHP4 is obsolete anyway, so this is a good opportunity to get rid of it.

Installation Guide

  • Go and get a fresh copy from WordPress.org Plugins Repository
  • Unpack the archive and follow the installation guidance included
  • If you like it, leave me a short comment or write a post about your new toys :-)

Hi, I really would like to use this plugin, it sounds great, but all I get on its option page is the box to enter my last.fm username. No other options appear, not even any buttons to click to save the username.

Awesome looking plugin. Is there any way in the future that you’re gonna be able to allow multiple users to use it?

Hey, I’ve been looking for a plugin exactly like this for a while now! I’m just having a bit of installation trouble… I placed the code like it says in the index file of my WordPress theme, but the track doesn’t show up in my post. I know on the installation guide, it says to place it into two other files. However, I cannot seem to figure out where these files are. Thanks for the help!

    Hi,

also bei mir kommt seit dem Update auf WordPress 2.6 immer die Fehlermeldungen beim Posten:

Warning: Division by zero in /srv/www/httpd/[...]/wp-content/plugins/lastfm-post-extension/lastfmpostext.php on line 234

Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /srv/www/httpd/[...]/wp-content/plugins/lastfm-post-extension/lastfmpostext.php:234) in /srv/www/httpd/[...]/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 770

Und unter einzelnen Posts, also nur bei den Posts, die ich seit WP 2.6 geschrieben hab, is dann diese Fehlermeldung zu sehn:

Warning: unserialize() expects parameter 1 to be string, array given in /srv/www/httpd/[...]/wp-content/plugins/lastfm-post-extension/lastfmpostext.php on line 37
    Im Äther: –

Bei älteren Posts hingegen gibt es keine Probleme. Da steht noch alles drunter, was ich da per Last.FM gehört hab. Liegts vll auch am neuen Aufbau von Last.FM?

Hey – this is a great plugin and was working very well for me until I updated the plugin just recently. Now I get:

Warning: unserialize() expects parameter 1 to be string, array given in /wp-content/plugins/lastfm-post-extension/lastfmpostext.php on line 37

    Any help or thoughts?

    Hmm … even this happens.

  12. This isn’t working… Last.fm is apparently working just fine and I installed per your instructions.

Hi, not working for either I’m afraid. I added the code in the right places in single, page and index.php – nothing. Any help you can provide? Thanks!
